Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting digital systems, networks, applications, and data from unauthorized access, attacks, or damage.
In today’s world, every device you use your phone, laptop, bank app, email, even your smart TV is connected to a network. That means every device can also be attacked.
Why Cybersecurity Matters
Cybersecurity exists to protect people, organizations, and technology from digital threats.

The CIA Triad is the core model of all cybersecurity.
Every security decision is based on these three principles:

Asset
Something valuable that must be protected.

Risk = Threat × Vulnerability × Impact
Example:
If a database is unpatched (vulnerability) and a hacker attacks (threat), the impact could be huge — so risk is high.
